You’ve probably heard that people with larger waists are more prone to an earlier death because viseral fat leads to all kinds of other metabolic diseases and problems. Now for some bad news – it now looks like it even if you are in the “normal” range for weight, if your waist size or waist-to-hip ratio is too high, you are still at risk.

Man, that sucks, especially if you are genetically predisposed to having a thicker waist. Of course, diet and exercise still go far in taking care of that problem.

It was scary to read that in one study, normal-weight males who had waists measuring 102.7 centimeters (about 40 inches) doubled their risk of dying compared to those with waists measuring 86 centimeters (34 inches) or less. Women who had a normal BMI (Body Mass Index)but who had waists 89 centimeters (35 inches) or more were 79% more likely to die than those with waists measuring 70.1 centimeters (28 inches) or less.

Oligonol To The Rescue

There is something relatively new out that may help with visceral fat, which is the fat that accumulates around your organs and waist. Visceral fat has been linked to “metabolic syndrome”, a condition affecting around 50 million Americans, characterized by:

* Abdominal obesity

* Insulin resistance or glucose intolerance

* High triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol, and high LDL cholesterol

* Elevated blood pressure

* Prothrombotic state (e.g., high fibrinogen or plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 in the blood)

* Proinflammatory state (e.g., elevated C-reactive protein in the blood)

Okay, let’s be honest – good old diet and exercise should be able to take care of most of these problems. But if you’re looking for a healthier way to “jumpstart” the program, Oligonol may be the answer.

Extracted from the Lychee berry, Oligonol has proven to be yet another great anti aging supplement. And guess what – this one is even approved by the FDA as a “dietary ingredient”.

Clinical trials have been impressive. In one study conducted by Duke University on 175 overweight men and women, they found that folks who performed high-dose vigorous intensity activity (20 miles of jogging each week) saw their visceral fat levels drop by only 7 percent in six months. However, the group that took the Oligonol saw reduced visceral fat levels twice as much as vigorous exercise — in less than half the time.

Oligonol seems to have a whole host of other anti aging and antioxidant benefits, as noted in this YouTube video.
