A variety of articles and studies published both on the web and in scientific journals claim that the effects of fish oil on the body include (but are not limited to): lowering cholesterol and preventing heart disease, as well as improving the symptoms associated with inflammatory conditions and arthritis.

Some studies do, in fact, refute the medical benefits of fish oil, but the main body of evidence seems to corroborate the ability of this nutrient to support the functioning of the human body.
