How Alternative Do You Want To Go With Your Healthcare?
August 1, 2008 by GiGi
Welcome back!
Many of us that have had medical problems have considered using alternative therapies to help us with a solution. But how do you find some of these alternative health solutions?
There is a book out now that covers almost any type of treatment called “UnBreak Your Health“. It’s a complete guide to complementary & alternative therapies.
Written by Alan Smith, this directory of treatments is categorized into Mind-Body-Spirit sections and includes plenty of user comments about the different therapies. Not only are some of the more well-known therapies included such as accupuncture and yoga, but also some new and relatively obscure treatments such as homeodynamic functioning as part of Environmental Medicine.
There are a couple of things this book is not:
It’s not designed for you to look up a disease and find a therapy for it. Because these alternative therapies are holistic in nature, they treat the body and mind, focusing on the source of the problem not the symptom.
It also does not cover nutrition or supplements. According to the author, that is a huge subject all on its own and there plenty of sources for that. That’s why you have me, right?
Over 60% of Americans have used alternative methods for healing. Many of these therapies are grounded in centuries old traditions.
If you have even the slightest interest in exploring healthy ways of managing your health care (and if you’re reading my blog, I guessing you do!), then take a look at this comprehensive guide.
