Update on TA 65 – Where To Buy

by

It’s been 2 years since I originally reported on TA-65 and I’ve noticed there has been a lot of press lately about it.  It’s time for an update. TA 65 is touted as the new anti aging supplement.  For more information about telomeres and TA-65, please read my original post here: Anti Aging Telomere Treatment.

There are some more updated posts regarding TA 65. Also, there is a lot of great information in the comments, so be sure to check those out! Updated posts:  Response From Dr. Dave and My Aging Telomeres and TA 65 results

Many people are now curious about where you can buy TA 65.  As far as I know, the only place to get it is from a doctor that is associated with TA Sciences.  You also need to understand that you have to buy a six month supply MINIMUM and for most people in their 50s &60s, that will run around $2,200 for the six month supply.

On top of that are the doctors fees and testing that needs to be done. They estimate the testing will run around $2,800. The doctor is separate.

12/17/2010 – AN UPDATE TO MY UPDATE! Apparently you CAN order TA 65 without going the doctor route.  One reader called TA Sciences and they said they would sell him a 6 month supply without the whole Patton Protocol.

All that being said, if you want to buy TA 65, here is the information about pricing: Patton Protocol.  You’ll notice there is a drop-down window in the upper left corner to find a doctor near you.

For the rest of us, Dr. Al Sears recommends keeping your homocysteine levels down (see original post if you don’t know what that is) by taking these supplements:

(Amounts are daily)
Vitamin B12 – 500 mcg
Folic Acid – 800 mcg
Vitamin B6
– 25 mg
Riboflavin (B2)
– 25 mg
TMG (trimethylglycine)
– 500 mg

Not the same as TA -65 I’m sure, but helpful, nonetheless.

Sounds a bit expensive to me. I think there are other ways to effectively slow down the aging process using all natural supplementation for a reasonable cost.

You can get TA-65 from TA Sciences without going through the doctors they recommend. I talked with them and they will sell you directly a six month supply. The cost ranges from $1,200.00 to $4,000.00 base on the dosing option.

REALLY?? I must say I AM surprised! Thanks for the update, Tom!

who ever thinks they will make money with that price is out of there mind
the money is with the mass market, if you can stay between 100-1000 then you might have a gold rush.

    1) Is Telomerase present in all parts of the body ?
    2) Does TA-65 stimulate growth of cancer cells ?

  6. GiGi on December 9th, 2010 7:30 am

I would imagine telemerase IS present in all parts of the body – the issue is that there is not enough telomerase to combat the damage done by free radicals.
There is some concern about cancer stimulation – not enough testing has been done on TA-65.
Here is an excellent article for more information: http://hubpages.com/hub/Doubt-Cast-on-Science-Behind-TA-65-Supplement

I have just seen this product on an Anti Ageing program. There are so many things around but the cost is prohibitive for the majority of the population.

However, small steps and we are all living longer and have many cures to hand.

I got my TA-65 for $600 from Dr. Edward Park in Southern California. I’ve been on it for 3 months now and so far I have increased energy and have lost about 15 pounds. I am very happy with my results and I will most definitely continue with it as Dr. Park advised the benefits do not diminish with time but increase.

  10. Dr Dave on January 13th, 2011 11:20 pm

I’m excited to see so many conversations about anti-aging, telomeres and TA-65 (in this update to a previous post and the article the author GiGi links to in her comment post). Many of you have shared your concerns about the cost of the only known substance to turn on the telomerase enzyme. I personally use TA-65 and I am one of the seven doctors who are distributing it. I understand it is a personal choice, and for some cost prohibitive which is why I have co-written a book with Dr. Michael Fossel, MD, PhD who is a professor of clinical medicine at Michigan State University and founder and former editor-in-chief of Rejuvenation Research who is well known for his view and research on telomerase therapy and authored Reversing Human Aging in 1997. Our book is an easy to understand manual discussing how telomeres play a part in the aging process and how you can take the latest research to map out your anti-aging plan. I’ve included lifestyle activities, diet and exercise routines which do not lengthen telomeres but will dramatically reduce the rate of telomere shortening. At $29.95, it is a fraction of the cost of TA-65 and details specific actions you can take now that will cost you nothing. The book is The Immortality Edge and it will help you make a decision about what anti-aging protocols are right for you to adopt. TA-65 is listed as an option, and for now it is the only option for people who are willing to invest in a product proven to increase telomere length.
I would like to address a few questions or concerns I’ve seen posted here. I’m not able to go into the detail I would normally like, so for more detailed information please read my blog Dr. Dave Unleashed where I discuss these subjects in greater detail. I am a physician and became board certified in Age Management Medicine from the AMA in 2006. I hope my background and expertise can shed some light to your questions and ease your concerns about TA-65 and cancer. I should point out that I have lectured on this subject to other physicians at several large anti-aging conventions and also wrote the TAS manual, so I am considered an expert concerning both telomere research and TA-65.
In response to Ole’s two questions:
    1) Is Telomerase present in all parts of the body?
    2) Does TA-65 stimulate growth of cancer cells?
    1) Telomerase is an enzyme that causes telomeres to lengthen; facilitates cell division and may account for the immortality of some cells. Telomerase is present in all cells, but is not active in all cells or may only release small amounts of telomerase in some cells when they replicate (not enough to keep pace with the damage and loss of everyday wear and tear and replication).
    2) This is a question I hear often and I understand why it’s a concern. Let me begin by stressing that stimulating growth of telomeres on normal chromosomes does not cause them to become cancerous because cancer cells are by definition abnormal cells. This bears repeating. It DOES NOT cause normal cells to become cancer cells.
Cancer cells are abnormal cells. When your genetic material (DNA) becomes damaged or is altered, it mutates and affects normal cell growth and division. Activating telomerase to lengthen telomeres does not alter or damage our DNA. Scientists have turned on the telomerase of normal cells ATTEMPTING to turn these cells into cancer cells and have been repeatedly unsuccessful.
It’s important to note that the unbridled and aggressive way telomerase is activated in cancer cells is also very different from the gentle and mild activation of telomerase in stem-cell and germ-cell lines. TA-65 mimics the natural and gentle activation of telomerase in stem-cells and germ-cells. In 2002, testing and research began with TA-65 and to date there are no studies linking its use to cancer. Rather studies showing its ability to increase the number of “good guys to fight off the bad guys”, gives hope that it will assist our bodies when fighting off cancerous mutations.
I’ve recently written a blog article delving deeper into this issue: http://www.healthiertalk.com/does-telomere-science-reveal-cure-cancer-3133#comment-15122. I’ve borrowed some of the information from that article for this comment post, but I recommend you read it and leave a comment letting me know if it fully answers your questions and puts your fears to rest.

No, I’m not using it, Sylvia. However, if one of good doctors that reads this blog would like to give me a 3 month supply to use, I’d be happy to write a review! ;)

  13. Tom on January 20th, 2011 9:28 am

My position on TA-65 is that the high cost makes it prohibitive for most people who are struggling to get ahead financially these days. Intstead, we should be concerned with foundational nutrition and not the latest and greatest that may or may not have any benefit. The real keys to feeling great and enjoying life to fullest are simple but often overlooked.

Eat a clean diet, drink pure water, eliminate as many toxins as possible, make sure there are no blockages in your body, exercise regularly and develop a positive and loving attitude toward yourself and others. When you fall in love with living and align everything the way they were designed to function, you won’t have to worry about a wonder pill that promises to provide a shortcut to real health and happiness.

To your exceptional health & wellbeing, Tom

  16. Malcolm on January 26th, 2011 11:14 pm

    Hi
I am thinking of taking TA-65, in fact I am leaning towards it quite strongly. Al Sears is recommending it having been taking it himself for a year. There have been generally good reports in terms of anti-aging – more energy, quicker body repair, signs of improving body function. Of course, long term testing has not been completed, but for those who are aging, time is of the essence. So it seems to me it is a risk worth taking.

On the homocysteine note, and Al Sears’ recommendation for that, l have been guilty of taking supplementation blindly: and Dr Sears recommendation would be for people with raised homocysteine levels. Certainly, if you have these it is wise to take the supplements mentioned. But I recommend you are guided by your own blood levels of homocysteine. Measure it first with a blood test: then treat only if necessary: then re-check blood levels with another blood test 3-6 months later

This makes me wonder about having ‘blood work’ done before considering akling TA-65. Better think fast as I am visiting the States in April (blood tests in the UK are extremely expensive by comparison.)

    All the best

    Malc

  17. GiGi on January 27th, 2011 7:26 am

    Hi Malcom,
You might want to shoot an email to Dr. Dave (see his comment below – doc@drdavesbest.com). Although I’m not a patient, I have found his office to be very responsive. Perhaps they can give you some help or ideas about where to get tested. Not sure where in the U.S. you are planning to go – it’s a BIG country! I think there’s a Dr. Parks located on the west coast, too.

  18. Malcolm on January 30th, 2011 5:20 am

    Hi Gigi

Thanks for your response. I did not notice Dr Dave. I am going between San Fran and LA, touring round, in April. But if I do need testing, I will easily consider returning (any old excuse). I will check out his blog. It is particularly interesting that he knows way to reduce the shortening of the telomere – I will be getting on to that. (Good info for my own blog too.)

(BTW in Dr Dave’s comment here, there is a bit of gobbledegook: “for more detailed information please read my blog insert blog here where I discuss”….)

I will keep reading your blog, Gigi.

    Best wishes

    Malc

I had fixed that link problem in the re-post of the comment but forgot to fix it in the original comment – thanks for reminding me.

I don’t know what the issue is with the avatars – it’s very frustrating. I can see them in the comments on the backend, but they don’t show up on the blog itself. I’m thinking of changing the theme again soon, so hopefully it will resolve itself.

Take RNA three times a day.You can get it at any online supplement site for a few bucks.See Sacrededen.com or lifeextension.com to read about it.Does the same thing for $ 9.99 instead of $ 4,000.00.
Most of these “blogs” and the “people” on them are just the company that’s selling the product.Which is why nobody will get to see this because they probably won’t post it.Good luck

Well, Bill – too bad you don’t really READ my blog…or you would know I’m not a company. And you would know that I have plenty of people posting other options.

And you would also know that RNA (ribonucleic acid) is NOT the same product as TA 65, nor does it “do the same thing”.

    thx

  34. GiGi on May 20th, 2011 7:09 am

I’m not the doctor – but from what I know, it was designed for telomere length only. A side benefit some people see is an increased energy level or better athletic results, but it’s not a performance enhancer.

I personally think it would be a waste of money to have a 25 year old take it – but again, you’d have to ask a doctor. I recommend Dr. Parks at http://www.rechargebiomedical.com

  35. GiGi on May 20th, 2011 7:12 am

Nope – not that I’ve heard of – although some people have reported hair thickening and less gray.

Isagenix is currently rolling out an exciting new anti-aging nutritional product that supports telomere health and will cost @ $100/month. It’s a natural product that contains concentrated botanicals and antioxidants. It was developed by highly esteemed scientist Bill Andrews and Isagenix founder and product formulator John Anderson.

Andrews is the founder of Sierra Sciences, LLC, a biotechnology company, with the tag line: Cure Aging or Die Trying! He is one of the world’s leading scientists in the field of telomere biology. He’s motivated to work fast so he can help his 80-something parents live longer! I love that!

I am so excited to be one of the first to use Product B. I’ve started writing a blog series about my results on this product, which will be available to the public in early August. I’d love to know what you think about my 1st blog posts about it (May 19 & 27, 2011) and whether or not you’re ready to use it yourself for 3 months to see what effect it has on you. Contact me to get on my Call List to receive first notice once the product becomes available to the public.

    Hi Wendy,

Thanks for sharing – I’ll be interested to hear your experiences about Isagenix. As I read on your blog, Isagenix is only one part of a comprehensive program of “stuff” to take, so the $100 a month is a little misleading.

I have no reason to switch from the TA 65, but I’ll certainly want to be hearing about your results. Are you basing the results on how you look and feel? Was there any pre-testing done?

Do let us know how it works in August!

I noticed a lot of traffic from that forum! Tell them thanks!

I wrote an update after 3 months on TA 65 here: http://antiagingnutritionnews.com/blog/1808/ta-65-results/
It gives a pretty detailed accounting of my results.
As for “how I feel” – probably about the same, which in my case is “great”! I haven’t had any energy problems,
sexual problems or serious weight problems, so I don’t think I’m a good “case study”.

I have seen improvements in my sleep and my nails – plus the ones mentioned in my follow-up article.

Dr. Park was clear that this is a “long term” supplement..and like all supplements, it takes a while to see results.
If I can get my lung volume in increase, I’ll be a happy camper!

So I’ll be patient and keep everyone updated on my results.

I have been buying my TA65 from Al Sear’s website. I have had a very bad experience in getting product, They keep running out of product and can’;t send it when they are suppose to, (2 out of 3 times or 66%) Their customer service cannot give a date when it will be delivered and don’t offer a discount or any type of appeasement for their poor planning. How can they keep taking on more customers when they can’t service what they have already? Buyer beware

  49. William on November 27th, 2011 5:56 pm

Rather than trying to concentrate tons of astragalus plants down to make a small amount of extract of the TA-65, why doesn’t someone figure out a way to either: (1) find a way to introduce Telomerase directly into the body, by Recombinant Genetic Insertion into perhaps some fast growing algae, chlorella, or yeast, where it could be easily and cheaply harvested and refined? (2) find a way to do the same with the TA-65 molecule by inserting it into fast growing algae, chlorella or yeast, where it could be easily and cheaply harvested and refined? It seems that the astragalus plant is too rare, expensive and difficult to obtain sufficient quantities of the TA-65 molecule to make this cost effective for the general public. There has to be a better way, and I’m sure that science will come up with this eventually, if someone isn’t already working on it.

Good point, but the idea is not to live longer, just healthier.

  52. Daniel on December 29th, 2011 3:29 pm

Can TA-65 be taken with Sermorelin? Would the two work together well or does one work better than the other to promote anit-aging?

  53. GiGi on December 30th, 2011 8:08 am

Daniel, I have not read anything about not being able to take it with other supplements, but I’ll ask Dr. Park to address this.

  54. Ole Fjord Larsen on December 30th, 2011 10:08 am

    Telomerase Inhibitors
One of the challenges of using TA-65 or other telomerase activators is that many of the people who are interested in them are already taking supplements that inhibit telomerase but have other beneficial health effects. In particular, there are claims that resveratrol, curcumin, quercetin, melatonin, green tea and its extracts, garlic (particularly its component alliicin), silymarin (from milk thistle), and cat’s claw products all exhibit an inhibitory effect on telomerase activity.

  55. Ed Park, MD on December 30th, 2011 3:36 pm

    Hi Daniel,

I do not recommend HGH or HGH releasing hormones, of which Sermorelin is one.
I think is safer for cells to make and ask for growth hormone, not for us to add them and cause imbalance.

  56. Sharon Philips on January 28th, 2012 2:52 am

First, there is no evidence whatsoever that increasing telemerase will increase life span, or even extend the life of individual cells. Cell vitality is far more complex than simply modifying a single molecule. The reason Geron did not pursue this compound is that there is definitely a known association between increasing telemerase and cancer. Anyone who considers this product should be extremely cautious and do their research. Either it is a total scam, in which event you lose a lot of money, or it works and you risk greatly increasing your chances of cancer.

Possible, but also possible – you didn’t read Dr. Dave’s comment above where he addresses the cancer issue.

TA65 is no longer the only game in town re: supporting telomere health!

I’ve been using Product B – the youthful aging supplement from Isagenix since the end of May 2011. I’ve noticed the same benefits as are reported above due to TA65, and more! – greater all-day energy, my original hair color is growing back, I have greater strength while using the machines at the gym, faster recovery time after exercise, fewer wrinkles – eye area, lips and forehead, and reduced age spots, quicker healing from minor wounds, I need less sleep, and I think I look pretty damn good for 53!

GiGi – your comment in response to my first post last year saying you thought Product B is expensive – I see that other nutrients are recommended to be used alongside TA65 and Product B is still more cost effective.

Let’s face it, neither of these amazing products are meant to be ‘stand alone’. Anti-aging is more than having longer telomeres!!

Isagenix has identified 5 Pillars of Health
    1. Cleanse toxic material that your liver, colon, kidneys, blood and lympth are unable to release from the food we eat, water we drink and air we breath;
    2. Add essential nutrients that are no longer in our food supply because of modern farming methods and farm soil degredation;
    3. Eat lower-calorie superfood that is highly absorbable by the digestive system to keep your body lean and muscled as you age;
    4. Reduce the effects of physical and emotional stress by supplementing with B-vitamins and adaptogenic herbs;
    5. Product B – all-natural herbal extracts and nutrients that support youthful aging at the cellular level.

Recently, I blogged about Product B testimonials – click on this link: http://naturalmenopausenow.com/2012/01/29/product-b-testimonials-endorse-isagenix-telomere-support-supplement-for-youthful-aging/

There’s an Isagenix website devoted to Product B: http://www.Stayoung.info.

TA65 is a trade name of a product consisting of mainly cycloastragenol together with standard Astragalus IV. Cycloastragenol is a natural herbal molecule extracted in minuscule quantities from the root of Astragalus IV. TA65 was the first in the Western world to be marketed but the second one is the lesser known trademarked product consisting of 98% cycloastragenol marketed as HTA98 and considerably cheaper. see wkipedia under cycloastragenol.

Hi! i would like to ask where can i get TA-65? Im from the philippines and i’m very much interested on selling this product here in my country. is it available already in my country?

  63. GiGi on April 1st, 2012 10:57 am

Rico, Not sure if it’s available in the Phillipines. TA-65 itself is a licensed product, I believe. You would have to check with http://www.tasciences.com/ about that.
You might also check with Tony at hta98.com about his product. See his comment below.
