There are other ways to get skin cancer other than exposure to the sun. Sunscreens can only help you from getting burned. It's the long term damage done by getting sunburned that can cause skin cancer. It's possible to get skin cancer from burns we got in our teens. So, no, sunscreen can't protect against cancer, just the cancer-causing effects of sunburn or sun damage. Hope that makes sense - you should still be using a quality sunscreen that has the right sunscreen protection.

Thanks for the tips on the natural sunscreen without the nasty chemicals. But I've read recently that most sunscreens don't protect us from getting skin cancer, only from getting burnt. Have you read about this? What is the best alternative?
