Do You Believe These Common Exercise Myths?
May 13, 2009 by GiGi
Welcome back!

Sometimes it seems that exercise myths have been around so long that they’ll never go away. Maybe after last night’s Biggest Loser finale, some of those myths will finally be shattered.
Do you believe some of these common exercise myths?
- Women who lift weights will “bulk up” or get too big.
- Muscle “toning” requires different exercising than muscle building.
- Women should do different weight lifting exercises because they have smaller frames
- Older adults need different weight bearing exercises than younger adults
Of course that last myth was shattered last night when the winner of the Biggest Loser at-home prize turned out to be a 64 year old man!!
And the winner of the grand prize ($250,000) turned out to be a 48 year old woman!
Watch this somewhat irreverent look at these myths by Jon Benson.
Then sign up below for his free e-course which further explodes some diet and exercise myths.
I took the course – it’s great!

Is that really the same woman in the picture?! Impressed if it is!
Great advice, but it only scraped the surface. Some advice on food myths would be great too. There are so amny contradicting stories in the media, it would be great to have some clear cut answers!
How can we believe if it is a myth. It would take 4-5 years for a person to reach of that result but in fact with the natural way…It is not possible only with the help of any common exercise
Not sure what you mean by “common” exercise. And the results don’t take 4-5 years – what’s not natural about diet and exercise?
An amazing transformation! When i think of women who lift weights, i picture the professional body builders who work out for hours every day to win competitions. The woman in the picture has a great figure! I guess all of us need to learn about the latest developments in the field, because it can make it much easier for us to get into shape. A friend of mine succeeded in losing about 65 pounds in less than a year. A trainer created a diet and exercise program that was just right for her. A weight-loss program that includes diet control, weight training, and cardio may be your best bet.
